When he was to be captured and executed by his brother Jamsheed QuliIbrahim Quli Qutb was protected and supported by Rama Raya of Vijayanagar from whom he sought asylum. This enabled him to get the throne of Golkonda. But he showed his gratitude to Rama raya by joining and actively participating in the confedaracy of the other muslim rulers against Rama Raya that resulted in the latter's killing.
